A RESOLUTION OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MONTANA URGING PROTECTION OF THE FISHERY IN THE STREAMFLOW MANAGEMENT PLAN OF THE PROPOSED COMPACT BETWEEN THE STATE OF MONTANA AND THE CROW TRIBE.



     WHEREAS, the proposed compact between the State of Montana and the Crow Tribe requires that a streamflow management plan be adopted; and

     WHEREAS, the streamflow management plan will directly impact the blue ribbon trout fishery on the Bighorn River.



NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:

     That the Montana House of Representatives intends that the streamflow management plan provide enforceable mechanisms that protect the long-term biological viability of the blue ribbon wild trout fishery on the Bighorn River between Two Leggins diversion and the Yellowtail Afterbay Dam to the Two Leggins diversion.
