A Bill for an Act entitled: "An Act appropriating money that would usually be appropriated by budget amendment to various state agencies for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1997; providing that certain appropriations continue into fiscal year 1998; and providing an immediate effective date."



Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Montana:



NEW SECTION. Section 1.  Time limits. The appropriations contained in [section 3] are intended to provide necessary expenditures for the years for which the appropriations are made. The unspent balance of an appropriation reverts to the fund from which it is appropriated upon conclusion of the final fiscal year for which its expenditures is authorized by [section 3].



NEW SECTION. Section 2.  Totals not appropriations. The totals shown in [section 3] are for informational purposes only and are not appropriations.



NEW SECTION. Section 3.  Appropriations. The following money is appropriated, subject to the terms and conditions of [sections 1 through 3]:

All remaining fiscal year 1997 federal budget amendment authority for the UI phone claims grant is authorized to continue into fiscal year 1998.

DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION

Construction

All remaining fiscal year 1997 federal budget amendment authority for emergency relief is authorized to continue into fiscal year 1998.

DEPARTMENT OF FISH, WILDLIFE, AND PARKS

Fisheries

All remaining fiscal year 1997 federal budget amendment authority for the Libby/Hungry Horse drawdown mitigation is authorized to continue into fiscal year 1998.

STATE LIBRARY COMMISSION

Natural Resource Information System

All remaining fiscal year 1997 federal budget amendment authority for the Lewis & Clark conservation district water project and national geospatial data clearinghouse is authorized to continue into fiscal year 1998.

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES

Health Policy and Services

All remaining fiscal year 1997 federal budget amendment authority for the PKU disease contract and nutrition evaluation is authorized to continue into fiscal year 1998.

Disability Services

All remaining fiscal year 1997 federal budget amendment authority for the disability determination services is authorized to continue into fiscal year 1998.

MONTANA HISTORICAL SOCIETY

Library Program

All remaining fiscal year 1997 federal budget amendment authority for the national historic publications and records commission and for the institute of museum services is authorized to continue into fiscal year 1998.

OFFICE OF PUBLIC INSTRUCTION

Distribution to Schools

All remaining fiscal year 1997 federal budget amendment authority for Title 1 migrant distribution and technology literacy distribution is authorized to continue into fiscal year 1998.

OPI Administration

All remaining fiscal year 1997 federal budget amendment authority for Title 1 migrant, Montana systems for transition services, technology literacy challenge, team nutrition training, and the bilingual education program is authorized to continue into fiscal year 1998.



NEW SECTION. Section 4.  Effective date. [This act] is effective on passage and approval.
