A Joint Resolution of the Senate and the House of Representatives of the state of Montana congratulating the Helena Capital High Bruin football team on winning the Montana state AA high school football championship.



WHEREAS, citizens of the city of Helena and the State of Montana have every reason to be extremely proud of the student athletes and coaching staff of the Capital High Bruin football team; and

WHEREAS, on November 23, 1996, the Capital High Bruin football team won its fourth state AA championship in the school's 23-year history by defeating C.M. Russell High School; and

WHEREAS, not only did the Bruin football team members dominate on the field, compiling a perfect 12-0 record for the season, but they also excelled in the classroom, with 20 of the athletes earning academic all-state honors; and

WHEREAS, throughout the season, the Bruin football team demonstrated exceptional teamwork, with both the offense and the defense contributing to the success of the team; and

WHEREAS, the Legislature is pleased to recognize the efforts and achievements of the football team and Bruin coaching staff, an outstanding group of students, athletes, and citizens of the State of Montana.



NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:

That the congratulations of all Montanans be extended to the Helena Capital High Bruin football team and the entire coaching staff for the team's academic achievements, for the team's and staff's exceptional 1996 season, and for winning the Montana state AA high school football championship.
