     7-13-2246. Withdrawal of candidacy. (1) Any individual who has been nominated as a candidate may, not later than 75 days before the day of election, cause his name to be withdrawn from nomination by filing with the election administrator a request therefor in writing, and no name withdrawn may be printed upon the ballot.
     (2) If, upon such withdrawal, the number of candidates remaining does not exceed the number to be elected, then other nominations may be made by filing petitions therefor not later than 75 days prior to the election.
