     7-6-2212. Authorization to maintain petty cash fund. (1) The board of county commissioners may set aside a sum of not less than $100 or more than $1,000 out of the general fund, which must be known as a petty cash fund, for the purpose of paying incidental expenses, such as freight, express, postage, and other similar items, which must be paid in cash at the time of delivery.
     (2) (a) In counties having a county auditor, the county auditor is responsible for expenditures from the petty cash fund.
     (b) In counties not having a county auditor, the county clerk is responsible for expenditures from the petty cash fund.
