     7-6-2214. Examination of report. (1) It is the duty of the board to examine the reports.
     (2) (a) If the report of an officer is found correct, the chairman of the board must write on the back of the same the words "Approved and ordered filed" and sign his name thereto.
     (b) If any report is found not correct, it must be returned to the officer with a statement of its insufficiency, and the report must be corrected and returned to the board and then, if found correct, filed as aforesaid.
