     87-4-704. Record to be kept. It shall be the duty of every person having in his possession and offering for sale any game or game birds to keep a record showing the amount and kind of game and game birds received by him, together with shipping and transportation receipts showing the true time and place of shipment of said game and game birds and the name of the person shipping same; provided, however, that any merchant in Montana selling game or game birds to any hotel or restaurant keeper or other person shall, in addition to the record and receipts heretofore required to be kept by him, keep a record of the date of sale, kind and amount of game or game birds and the name of the purchaser and provided, further, that in the case of hotel and restaurant keepers or other persons buying game or game birds from a merchant within the state of Montana, a receipt from the said merchant showing the date, amount and kind of game or game birds purchased shall be sufficient evidence of compliance with the provisions of this part by such hotel or restaurant keeper or other person.
