AN ACT ALLOWING THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF AN IRRIGATION DISTRICT TO SET THE DAILY COMPENSATION RATE OF THE COMMISSIONERS; AND AMENDING SECTION 85-7-1505, MCA.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:



     Section 1.  Section 85-7-1505, MCA, is amended to read:

     "85-7-1505.  Compensation and expenses of commissioners. (1) The commissioners, when sitting as a board or when engaged in the business of the district, are entitled to compensation at an amount determined by a majority vote of the board of $25 for each day that they are actually and necessarily engaged in the performance of irrigation district duties. and to The amount of compensation determined by the board may be no greater than $100.

     (2) The commissioners are also entitled to reimbursement for travel expenses, as provided in 2-18-501 through 2-18-503, and for their their necessary expenses when otherwise engaged on in district business, including premiums on qualifying bonds and any other bonds required of them the commissioners in connection with their their office."
