A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES FOR ONE HALF-TIME EMPLOYEE TO BE LOCATED IN LIBBY, MONTANA, TO ASSIST RESIDENTS IN LOCATING AND ACCESSING SERVICES TO ADDRESS ASBESTOS-RELATED ISSUES; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE."



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:



     NEW SECTION.  Section 1.  Appropriation. There is appropriated $18,500 for each fiscal year of the biennium from the general fund to the department of public health and human services. The appropriation must be used for one half-time employee to be located in Libby, Montana, to assist residents in locating and accessing services to address asbestos-related issues.



     NEW SECTION.  Section 2.  Effective date. [This act] is effective July 1, 2001.
