A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES FOR PREMIUM AND MEDICATION COSTS RELATED TO THE TREATMENT OF HIV AND AIDS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE."



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:



     NEW SECTION.  Section 1.  Appropriation. There is appropriated $100,000 to the department of public health and human services from the general fund for the 2002-03 biennium for the purpose of covering costs related to treatment and insurance coverage for health care services for the treatment of HIV and AIDS, including but not limited to payment for medications or insurance premiums for those who are not eligible for other publically funded programs.



     NEW SECTION.  Section 2.  Effective date. [This act] is effective July 1, 2001.
