A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT CREATING THREE STATE PARKS IN REGION 6; DESIGNATING THE SITES, SCOPE, AND PURPOSES OF THE STATE PARKS; AND REQUIRING THE DEPARTMENT OF FISH, WILDLIFE, AND PARKS TO PROVIDE MAINTENANCE OF THE PARKS."



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:



     NEW SECTION.  Section 1.  Lewis and Clark Site state park -- region 6. (1) There is a state park in region 6 to be known as the Lewis and Clark Site state park, created in partnership with area tribes and the federal bureau of land management. The park is composed of 20 acres at the Lewis and Clark fishing access site by the Missouri River near Wolf Point. The park also contains a historic bridge, kiosk and bulletin board, and campgrounds with tepee sites.

     (2)  Maintenance of the park is the responsibility of the department.



     NEW SECTION.  Section 2.  Educational state park -- region 6. (1) There is a state park in region 6 to be known as the Educational state park. The park is composed of land in Fort Peck, adjacent to Kiwanis park, donated by the U.S. army corps of engineers. The park will contain an I-MAX theater built and maintained by the state.

     (2) Maintenance of the park is the responsibility of the department.



     NEW SECTION.  Section 3.  Homestead state park -- region 6. (1) There is a state park in region 6 to be known as the Homestead state park. The park is composed of land in Phillips County that contains historical buildings, an original barn, and a campground.

     (2)  Maintenance of the park is the responsibility of the department.



     NEW SECTION.  Section 4.  Codification instruction. [Sections 1 through 3] are intended to be codified as an integral part of Title 23, chapter 1, part 1, and the provisions of Title 23, chapter 1, part 1, apply to [sections 1 through 3].
