     7-4-2207. Duty of officers to complete official business. It is the duty of all officers to complete the business of their respective offices to the time of the expiration of their respective terms. In case any officer, at the close of his term, leaves to his successor official labor to be performed for which he has received compensation or which it was his duty to perform, he is liable to pay to his successor the full value of such services, which may be recovered in any court of competent jurisdiction upon action brought against him on his official bond.
