A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT APPROPRIATING MONEY TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS TO SUPPORT A TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT CENTER AT MONTANA TECH OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MONTANA FOR AGILE VIRTUAL ENTERPRISE TECHNOLOGY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE."

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 1.  Rocky Mountain agile virtual enterprise technical development center -- appropriation. (1) There is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents $350,000 for the biennium ending June 30, 2005, to be used as a partial match for a $600,000 national science foundation partnership for innovation grant awarded to Montana tech of the university of Montana to establish the Rocky Mountain agile virtual enterprise technical development center.

     (2) The Rocky Mountain agile virtual enterprise technical development center is dedicated to systematically improving Montana's economy by connecting Montana private businesses and public sector organizations into collaborative business networks to attain strategic market advantages. Collaborative business networks enable independent, geographically isolated organizations to efficiently form virtual organizations, known as agile virtual enterprises, from organizational core competencies.

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 2.  Effective date. [This act] is effective July 1, 2003.
