A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT PROHIBITING A COUNTY FROM HIRING A LOBBYIST UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES."

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 1.  Restriction on hiring of paid lobbyist. A board of county commissioners may not hire a lobbyist, as defined in 5-7-102, if the county is represented in the legislature by two or more members of the house of representatives.

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 2.  Codification instruction. [Section 1] is intended to be codified as an integral part of Title 7, chapter 5, part 21, and the provisions of Title 7, chapter 5, part 21, apply to [section 1].
