A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT REQUIRING ALL CAMPUSES OF THE MONTANA UNIVERSITY SYSTEM TO ACCEPT ALL COLLEGE-LEVEL COURSES FROM REGIONALLY ACCREDITED INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION."

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 1.  Transfer of credits -- definition. (1) All college-level courses from regionally accredited institutions of higher education must be accepted and applied toward the major, minor, general education, distribution requirements, and free electives of associate and baccalaureate degrees by all campuses of the Montana university system.

     (2) (a) "College-level courses" means courses that are acceptable toward an associate of arts, associate of science, or baccalaureate degree at their respective institution.

     (b) The term does not include remedial courses.

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 2.  Codification instruction. [Section 1] is intended to be codified as an integral part of Title 20, chapter 25, part 1, and the provisions of Title 20, chapter 25, part 1, apply to [section 1].
