A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT APPROPRIATING MONEY TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES FOR HOLDING A MONTANA COLLEGE LEADERSHIP FORUM FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES, INCLUDING INDIAN STUDENTS ON MONTANA RESERVATIONS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE."

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 1.  Appropriation. There is appropriated $50,000 from the state general fund to the department of public health and human services for each of the fiscal years 2008 and 2009. The department shall use the appropriation for a grant or to fund a contract to hold a Montana college leadership forum for students with disabilities, including Indian students on Montana reservations. The grant or contract for the Montana college leadership forum is recommended to be administered in conjunction with a Montana youth leadership forum.

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 2.  Notification to tribal governments. The secretary of state shall send a copy of [this act] to each tribal government located on the seven Montana reservations and to the Little Shell Chippewa tribe.

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 3.  Effective date. [This act] is effective July 1, 2007.
