AN ACT IMPLEMENTING PROVISIONS OF THE GENERAL APPROPRIATIONS ACT BY INCREASING THE RATE PAID TO PROVIDERS BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:

 

     Section 1.  Provider rate increases. (1) The department of public health and human services shall increase the rates paid to providers who contract with the department using the base rate for fiscal year 2012. The department shall increase rates by 2% starting July 1, 2013, and by an additional 2% starting July 1, 2014.

     (2) Except as provided in subsection (3), for those providing medicaid services, the provider rate increases may be paid only to providers contracting with the department who are paid at a rate that is less than the federally prescribed rates as of January 1, 2013.

     (3) Amounts appropriated by the legislature in the general appropriations act for targeted case management for youth must be used to increase provider rates for targeted case management services for each 15-minute unit of service.

 

     Section 2.  Effective date. [This act] is effective July 1, 2013.
