A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT ALLOWING THE GOVERNOR TO AUTHORIZE A LEASE AGREEMENT THAT CONTAINS AN OPTION TO PURCHASE; PROVIDING FOR AN ADMINISTRATIVE FEE; AMENDING SECTION 18-3-101, MCA; AND PROVIDING AN IMMEDIATE EFFECTIVE DATE."
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:
Section 1. Section 18-3-101, MCA, is amended to read:
"18-3-101. Authority to lease with option to purchase. (1) When authorized by a vote of two-thirds of the members of each house of the legislature, the department of administration may, as part of the long-range building program, enter into a lease contract that provides an option to purchase a building to be used by the state or any department of state government.
(2) When the legislature is not convened, the governor, with the governor's signature, may allow the department of administration into a lease contract that provides an option to purchase as part of the long-range building program. The state agency requesting a lease contract with the option will pay the department of administration a $500 fee for review of the contract."
NEW SECTION. Section 2. Effective date. [This act] is effective on passage and approval.
