A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT REQUIRING DEPARTMENTS TO SHARE AND HELP COLLECT INFORMATION ABOUT AN EMPLOYER'S NONCOMPLIANCE WITH FEDERAL OR STATE WAGE AND TAX LAWS."



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:



     NEW SECTION.  Section 1.  State departments to share information about noncompliant employers. (1) Each department shall share with each of the other departments information about an employer that has failed to pay prevailing wages to employees, workers' compensation taxes or premiums, payroll taxes, or any other payroll-related payment required by federal or state law.

     (2) Each department shall provide reasonable assistance to other departments collecting information about employer compliance with federal and state wage and tax laws.



     NEW SECTION.  Section 2.  Codification instruction. [Section 1] is intended to be codified as an integral part of Title 2, chapter 15, and the provisions of Title 2, chapter 15, apply to [section 1].
