A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT APPROPRIATING GENERAL FUND MONEY FOR SPECIFIC PROGRAMS THAT WERE FUNDED BY CHAPTER 563, LAWS OF 1999, AND TRANSFERRING GENERAL FUND MONEY TO THE RESEARCH AND COMMERCIALIZATION EXPENDABLE TRUST; AND PROVIDING AN IMMEDIATE EFFECTIVE DATE."



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:



     NEW SECTION.  Section 1.  Appropriations -- fund transfer. (1) The following amounts are appropriated from the general fund:

     (a) $3.5 million to the treasure state endowment program provided for in Title 90, chapter 6, part 7;

     (b) $600,000 to the department of administration for the purpose of reimbursing tax increment financing industrial districts provided for in 7-15-4299;

     (c) $65,000 to the cooperative development center;

     (d) $200,000 to the Montana board of research and commercialization technology for funding the Montana manufacturing extension center at Montana State University-Bozeman;

     (e) $1.25 million to the growth through agriculture program provided for in Title 90, chapter 9; and

     (f) $1.25 million to the department of commerce for business recruitment, foreign trade, small business innovation research, the small business development center program, and the certified communities program provided for in 90-1-116.

     (2) The appropriations in subsection (1) are for the remainder of the current fiscal year and for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2001.

     (3) There is transferred from the general fund $6.4 million to the research and commercialization expendable trust created in 90-3-1002.



     NEW SECTION.  Section 2.  Effective date. [This act] is effective on passage and approval.
