The purpose of the reference book is to provide the legislature with options for addressing the 2013 biennium budget imbalance. The Legislative Finance Committee (LFC) has formed three subcommittees; Judicial Branch, Law Enforcement and Justice; Department of Health and Human Services; and Education and Local Government. Each subcommittee will consist of four LFC members and 4 to 8 interim committee members from the policy committee assigned to the area to assist the subcommittee. The purpose of meetings with the interim committees are to solicit legislative feedback on how staff should prioritize its time in doing further work on options, solicit legislative ideas beyond those currently included in the reference book and solicit public comment on the options included in the reference book.
