Legislative Energy Committee to Begin Interim Work
The Energy and Telecommunications Interim Committee (ETIC) of the Montana Legislature will meet July 10 in Helena to elect officers and establish its work plan for the next several months.
The public is welcome to attend the meeting, which will be at 9 a.m. in Room 172 of the Capitol. An opportunity for public comment will be provided.
The committee also will hear energy-related reports from the Governor's Office and the Public Service Commission.
The ETIC is one of several legislative interim committees that meet to explore policy issues in depth during the time between biennial sessions. These committees often use the information they gather during the interims to develop legislation for upcoming sessions.
Members of the ETIC are Sens. Jerry Black, R-Shelby; Ron Erickson, D-Missoula; Verdell Jackson, R-Kalispell; and Cliff Larsen, D-Missoula; and Reps. Duane Ankney, R-Colstrip; Tony Belcourt, D-Box Elder; Robyn Driscoll, D-Billings; and Harry Klock, R-Harlowton.
