Longtime Legislative Fiscal Analyst to Retire

Clayton Schenck, legislative fiscal analyst and director of the Legislative Fiscal Division for the past 15 years, has announced plans to retire at the end of the year. He made the announcement at a meeting of the Senate Finance and Claims Committee today.

Schenck has worked for the legislative branch for the past 25 years. He said it's hard to retire because "this has been a great job. There are a lot of great people."

He plans to "take it easy for awhile" and then look for volunteer opportunities, such as working with Habitat for Humanity.

"I don't intend to become a couch potato," he said.

The Legislative Finance Committee will conduct a search for a new fiscal analyst, possibly beginning in June.
