House Bill 298, passedby the 1997 Legislatureand signed by theGovernor, extends to2001 the terminationdate of the Health CareAdvisory Council. TwoSenators and twoRepresentatives,appointed by thePresident of the Senateand the Speaker of the House, respectively, join on theCouncil six members appointed by the Governor.
The Council studies and reviews problems in the healthcare arena and investigates ways to reduce costs inservices and health care delivery systems, whilepromoting access and affordability.
