The LegislativeOversightCommittee onMontana-ARCOlitigation is made upof two Senators and two Representatives, appointed bythe President of the Senate and the Speaker of theHouse, respectively.

This Committee is required to meet quarterly to bebriefed on the progress of the litigation and negotiationsbetween the State of Montana and Atlantic-RichfieldCorporation regarding natural resource damage in theClark Fork River Basin. The Committee is also requiredto consider plans for the appropriate use of any moneyreceived by the state as a result of the litigation.
