     72-16-450. Receipts of in-kind payments -- recording. Title or possession of the in-kind payment must be taken in the name of the state of Montana by the receiving entity. The receiving entity shall promptly notify the department of revenue and the revenue oversight committee of the receipt of the in-kind payment and the proper recording of any interest in real property. Upon such notification, the department shall notify the county treasurer and state treasurer of the in-kind payment. The in-kind payment must be recorded and credited as if money had been received for payment of the inheritance or estate tax.
