     87-5-205. Restrictions on species allowed for falconry. (1) The peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinus), bald eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus), and osprey (Pandion haliaeetus) may not be captured in this state for the sport of falconry.
     (2) Species of raptors which are native to North America may be brought into Montana for the purpose of falconry unless that action is specifically prohibited by this part, the laws of other states, or the rules of the federal government. Those raptors may be possessed, subject to this part. A person bringing a raptor into this state must be able to show proof of the area of origin.
