A Bill for an Act entitled: "An Act providing that an organization receiving state or federal money through a contract for services for a state agency shall so note on certain organization materials; and providing a penalty."

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Montana:

NEW SECTION. Section 1.  Notice of state or federal funding -- penalty. (1) An organization that receives state or federal funds through a contract for services for a state agency shall clearly and conspicuously note on the organization's stationery, publications, advertisements, and other official literature promoting the organization's services that the organization receives public funding. The organization shall also identify the state agency through which the funding was provided.

(2) A person who knowingly violates a provision of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor.

NEW SECTION. Section 2.  Codification instruction. [Section 1] is intended to be codified as an integral part of Title 18, chapter 1, and the provisions of Title 18, chapter 1, apply to [section 1].
