A Joint Resolution of the Senate and the House of Representatives of the state of Montana congratulating the Hardin High School Bulldogs basketball team on winning the Montana state Class A high school boys basketball championship.



WHEREAS, through participation in extracurricular sports activities, students learn self-discipline, build self-confidence, and develop skills to handle competitive situations; and

WHEREAS, team sports provide valuable lessons in teamwork, sportsmanship, and hard work; and

WHEREAS, when a sports team excels, it is a source of pride for the athletes, their parents, and their community; and

WHEREAS, on March 1, 1997, the Hardin High School Bulldogs defeated Beaverhead County High School for the state Class A high school boys basketball championship; and

WHEREAS, this was the second boys basketball championship won by Hardin High School since entering the Class A division in 1956; and

WHEREAS, the Legislature is pleased to recognize the efforts and achievements of the Bulldogs basketball team and coaching staff for their outstanding performance.



NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:

That the congratulations of all Montanans be extended to the Hardin High School Bulldogs basketball team and to Coach John Whiteman and his staff for their hard work and perseverance in winning the Montana state Class A high school boys basketball championship.
