     19-3-1210. Death payments to designated beneficiaries of retired members. If a retired member receiving a regular retirement benefit dies without designating a contingent annuitant under 19-3-1501, the member's designated beneficiary must be paid the excess, if any, of the member's accumulated contributions on the day that the member's retirement benefit commenced over the total of the retirement benefit payments made to the retired member.
