     19-6-903. Death payments in absence of survivors. If upon the member's death before retirement there is no surviving spouse or dependent child and if the member had designated a beneficiary as provided in 19-2-801, the designated beneficiary must be paid an amount equal to the member's accumulated contributions. If there is no designated beneficiary, death payments must be paid to the member's estate.
