     3-10-602. Penalty. Any justice of the peace violating 3-10-601 shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine not exceeding $1,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 6 months in the county jail, or both. He shall also be deemed guilty of malfeasance in office and, in the discretion of the court, may be removed from office, in which latter case he shall thereafter be disqualified from holding such office.
