AN ACT APPROPRIATING MONEY TO THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND CONSERVATION FOR FIRE SUPPRESSION COSTS FOR THE BIENNIUM ENDING JUNE 30, 2001; AND PROVIDING AN IMMEDIATE EFFECTIVE DATE.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:



     Section 1.  Appropriation -- time limits. (1) Subject to subsection (2), up to $6,048,986 is appropriated from the general fund to the department of natural resources and conservation forestry program.

     (2) The appropriation in subsection (1) is intended to provide for the necessary expenditures for the supplemental fiscal year 2000 fund transfer for fire costs and for fire costs in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2001. The unspent balance of the appropriation must revert to the general fund.



     Section 2.  Effective date. [This act] is effective on passage and approval.
