HOUSE BILL NO. 243

A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT LIMITING THE NUMBER OF BILLS A LEGISLATOR MAY INTRODUCE TO 10 UNLESS EACH BILL IN EXCESS OF 10 INCLUDES THE REPEAL OF A STATUTE."
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:
NEW SECTION. Section 1. Bill introduction restrictions. (1) Except as provided in subsection (2), a legislator may not introduce more than 10 bills in a legislative session.
(2) A legislator may introduce more than 10 bills in a legislative session if every bill in excess of 10 includes the repeal of a statute.
NEW SECTION. Section 2. Codification instruction. [Section 1] is intended to be codified as an integral part of Title 5, chapter 4, part 1, and the provisions of Title 5, chapter 4, part 1, apply to [section 1].
