HOUSE BILL NO. 291

A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT APPROPRIATING MONEY FROM THE GENERAL FUND TO THE MONTANA UNIVERSITY SYSTEM, MONTANA AGRICULTURAL EXPERIMENT STATION, FOR THE AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH CENTERS; PROVIDING A PRIORITY RANKING FOR FUNDING PURPOSES; AND PROVIDING FOR THE REVERSION OF EXCESS FUNDS."
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:
NEW SECTION. Section 1. Appropriation from state general fund. (1) There is appropriated $6,249,300 from the general fund to the Montana university system, Montana agricultural experiment station.
(2) The funds appropriated in this section must be used by the Montana agricultural experiment station program in the following priority and at the following amounts:

1. Southern Agricultural Research Center, Huntley $1,433,500
2. Central Agricultural Research Center, Moccasin 367,000
3. Northern Agricultural Research Center, Havre 1,163,000
4. Eastern Agricultural Research Center, Sidney 1,743,000
5. Northwestern Agricultural Research Center, Kalispell 453,000
6. Post Farm, Bozeman 120,000
7. MSU Livestock and Teaching Center, Bozeman 87,800
8. Fort Ellis Agricultural Station, Bozeman 11,000
9. Girvin Farm, Bozeman 29,000
10. Western Triangle Agricultural Research Center, Conrad 27,000
11. Western Agricultural Research Center, Corvallis 17,000
12. Red Bluff Research Ranch, Norris 798,000
NEW SECTION. Section 2. Excess funds. Any amount not used for the purposes of [section 1] must be reverted to the general fund.
