A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT REQUIRING A HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT OR A K-12 DISTRICT TO ESTABLISH A SCHOOL BUS PASSENGER LOADING ZONE NEAR SCHOOL PROPERTY UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS."



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:



     NEW SECTION.  Section 1.  Establishment of school bus passenger loading zone. Before a high school district or a K-12 district may sponsor an event or activity on school property in which other high schools participate and to which students are transported by bus, a passenger loading zone must be established near the school property to accommodate the buses transporting the students. The trustees of a high school district or a K-12 district shall apply to the local government having jurisdiction for the establishment of the passenger loading zone.



     NEW SECTION.  Section 2.  Codification instruction. [Section 1] is intended to be codified as an integral part of Title 20, chapter 10, part 1, and the provisions of Title 20, chapter 10, part 1, apply to [section 1].
