A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT APPROPRIATING MONEY FROM THE TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE FOR NEEDY FAMILIES BLOCK GRANT OR MAINTENANCE OF EFFORT FUNDS, OR A COMBINATION OF BOTH, TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES TO CONTRACT WITH THE BOARD OF HOUSING TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR THE HOUSING LOAN PROGRAM FOR LOW-INCOME INDIVIDUALS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE."



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:



     NEW SECTION.  Section 1.  Appropriation. There is appropriated $2 million from the temporary assistance to needy families block grant or maintenance of effort funds, or a combination of both, to the department of public health and human services for the biennium beginning July 1, 2001, to contract with the board of housing to provide funding for the housing loan program provided for in 90-6-131 through 90-6-136 for individuals whose family income does not exceed 200% of the federal poverty level.



     NEW SECTION.  Section 2.  Effective date. [This act] is effective July 1, 2001.
