A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MONTANA SUPPORTING THE ERECTION OF A MONTANA PURPLE HEART MEMORIAL.
WHEREAS, many Montanans, both men and women, have served and are now serving with distinction in the armed forces of the United States; and
WHEREAS, these Montana men and women have made and continue to make many significant and often heroic sacrifices in support of our beloved Nation and its people; and
WHEREAS, many of these Montanans have suffered wounds incurred in combat, some having given their last full measure of devotion in defense of our Nation and its interests; and
WHEREAS, the Military Order of the Purple Heart is erecting a Montana Purple Heart Memorial that recognizes the sacrifices of our Montana, combat-wounded veterans who have valiantly served our Nation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:
That the Legislature of this great state recognize the tremendous sacrifices made by all Montanans who have served in our armed forces and wholeheartedly support the erection of a Montana Purple Heart Memorial that commemorates those Montanans who have suffered wounds and even death in defense of our freedom, our state, and our great Nation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Secretary of State send a copy of this resolution to the Commander, Chapter 343, Military Order of the Purple Heart, in Billings, Montana.
