A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT DISALLOWING THE FURTHER EXPENDITURE OF STATE MONEY FOR THE POISONING OF CHERRY CREEK AND THE REINTRODUCTION OF NATIVE FISH SPECIES INTO THE CREEK; AND PROVIDING AN IMMEDIATE EFFECTIVE DATE."



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:



     NEW SECTION.  Section 1.  Limit on use of state money for Cherry Creek fish reintroduction project. After [the effective date of this act], a state department may not expend state money for the proposed project to poison Cherry Creek and subsequently reintroduce native cutthroat trout, nor may the state enter a contract that would further encumber state funds for the Cherry Creek fish reintroduction project.



     NEW SECTION.  Section 2.  Saving clause. [This act] does not affect rights and duties that matured, penalties that were incurred, or proceedings that were begun before [the effective date of this act].



     NEW SECTION.  Section 3.  Effective date. [This act] is effective on passage and approval.
