BY REQUEST OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY

 

AN ACT ELIMINATING THE REQUIREMENT THAT MONEY RECEIVED FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BE DEPOSITED IN THE RADON CONTROL ACCOUNT; AMENDING SECTION 75-3-607, MCA; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:

 

     Section 1.  Section 75-3-607, MCA, is amended to read:

     "75-3-607.  Radon control account. (1) There is a radon control account in the state special revenue fund. There must be deposited in the account all money received from any loans, grants, or other funds or gifts, conditional or otherwise, in furtherance of this part that are received from the federal government and from other sources, public or private sources, except for money received from the federal government.

     (2)  Funds in the account are allocated to the department for the purpose of funding the costs of implementing and operating the program established under this part."

 

     Section 2.  Effective date. [This act] is effective July 1, 2003.
