     39-72-714. Reduction or suspension of compensation for unsanitary or injurious practices or refusal to submit to medical or surgical treatment. The insurer may reduce or suspend the compensation of a claimant who persists in unsanitary or injurious practices tending to imperil or retard recovery or who refuses to submit to medical or surgical treatment as is reasonably essential to promote the claimant's recovery. If a dispute arises between a claimant and an insurer regarding the reduction or suspension of compensation, the mediation procedures provided in Title 39, chapter 71, part 24, must be followed.
