BY REQUEST OF THE ECONOMIC AFFAIRS INTERIM COMMITTEE

 

A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT APPROPRIATING MONEY TO THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE FOR EDUCATION RELATED TO IDENTITY THEFT PREVENTION AND ENFORCEMENT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE."

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 1.  Appropriation. The following amounts are appropriated from the general fund for fiscal years 2008 and 2009 to provide expenses for public education specialists and operating expenses for the department of justice to promote education on avoiding identity theft and helping law enforcement respond to identity theft complaints:

DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE

                                                                FY 2008                       FY 2009

1. Personal expenses                              $94,568                        $97,004

2. Operating expenses                              27,852                         21,900.

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 2.  Effective date. [This act] is effective July 1, 2007.
