HOUSE BILL NO. 574

AN ACT APPROPRIATING $50,000 FROM THE GENERAL FUND TO THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE TO BE USED FOR GRANTS TO ASSIST IN THE RESTORATION AND RENOVATION OF CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL ARTS CENTERS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:

 

     Section 1.  Appropriation. There is appropriated $50,000 from the state general fund to the department of commerce for the biennium beginning July 1, 2007, for grants to assist in the restoration and renovation of historical and cultural arts centers impacted by a disaster, as defined in 10-3-103, in communities that are at least 25 miles from another center. The department shall use a competitive application process in awarding grants.

 

     Section 2.  Effective date. [This act] is effective July 1, 2007.
