A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT APPROPRIATING MONEY FOR MENTAL HEALTH CASE MANAGEMENT TO ASSIST PROBATION OFFICERS WITH LOW-RISK CRIMINAL OFFENDERS WITH MENTAL ILLNESS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE."

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 1.  Appropriation. There is appropriated $240,000 from the general fund for the 2009 biennium to the department of corrections to establish pilot projects on mental health supervision in Great Falls and Bozeman. The purpose of the pilot program is to provide mental health case management to assist probation and parole officers in supervising low-risk criminal offenders who have a mental illness and are under supervision.

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 2.  Effective date. [This act] is effective July 1, 2007.
