AN ACT REVISING REQUIREMENTS FOR UNATTENDED MOTOR VEHICLES; AMENDING SECTION 61-8-357, MCA; AND PROVIDING AN IMMEDIATE EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:
Section 1. Section 61-8-357, MCA, is amended to read:
"61-8-357. Unattended motor vehicles. No A person driving or in charge of a motor vehicle shall may not permit it to stand unattended without first stopping the engine and effectively setting the brake thereon and, when standing upon any grade, turning the front wheels to the curb or side of the highway safely securing it in such a manner as to prevent the vehicle from rolling onto the roadway."
Section 2. Effective date. [This act] is effective on passage and approval.
