A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT APPROPRIATING MONEY TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION FOR CERTAIN PURPOSES CONCERNING THE SECURITY OF THE STATE INFORMATIONAL TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS; PROVIDING FOR A FUND TRANSFER; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE."

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 1.  Appropriation. (1) By August 15, 2017, the state treasurer shall transfer $550,000 from the general fund to the long-range information technology capital project fund.

     (2) For the biennium beginning July 1, 2017, there is appropriated $550,000 from the long-range information technology capital project fund to the department of administration for the following purposes:

     (a) to mitigate security risks in the state's informational technology systems; and

     (b) for continuous security monitoring of the network.

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 2.  Effective date. [This act] is effective July 1, 2017.
