A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT CREATING MONTANA STANDARD TIME; AND PROVIDING AN EXEMPTION FROM DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME; AND PROVIDING A DELAYED EFFECTIVE DATE."

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 1.  Montana standard time. (1) The standard time in Montana is the mountain standard time zone as defined in 15 U.S.C. 261.

     (2) The state of Montana is exempt from daylight savings time, as allowed by federal law.

     (3) This section may not affect federal laws governing:

     (a) the movements of common carriers engaged in interstate commerce or foreign commerce; or

     (b) the timing of an act by an officer or department of the United States, as established by statute, order, rule, or regulation.

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 2.  Codification instruction. [Section 1] is intended to be codified as an integral part of Title 30, and the provisions of Title 30 apply to [section 1].

 

     NEW SECTION.  SECTION 3.  EFFECTIVE DATE. [THIS ACT] IS EFFECTIVE NOVEMBER 5, 2017, AT 2:00 A.M.
