HOUSE BILL NO. 133

A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT PROVIDING FOR FREE AIRPORT PARKING FOR DISABLED VETERANS; AND SUPERSEDING THE UNFUNDED MANDATE LAWS."

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 1.  Free parking for disabled veterans. (1) An airport operated by the state, a municipality, or an airport authority must provide free airport parking to a disabled veteran and the disabled veteran's passengers for 10 consecutive days if the disabled veteran's vehicle displays a special license plate issued under 61-3-458(4)(b) or if the disabled veteran has a disabled veteran identification card issued by the United States department of veterans affairs.

     (2) The airport may charge the disabled veteran the customary parking fee for each day the disabled veteran's vehicle is parked in excess of 10 consecutive days.     

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 2.  Unfunded mandate laws superseded. The provisions of [this act] expressly supersede and modify the requirements of 1-2-112 through 1-2-116.

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 3.  Codification instruction. [Section 1] is intended to be codified as an integral part of Title 67, and the provisions of Title 67 apply to [section 1].
