HOUSE BILL NO. 360

A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: "AN ACT PROVIDING DISCOUNTED LICENSES TO FIRST-TIME RESIDENT HUNTERS AND ANGLERS; AND PROVIDING A DELAYED EFFECTIVE DATE."

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 1.  Licenses for first-time resident hunters and anglers. (1) A resident, as defined in 87-2-102, who has never before obtained any fishing license pursuant to Title 87, chapter 2, may purchase a Class A fishing license for one-half the cost.

     (2) Except as provided in 87-2-810(8)(h), a resident, as defined in 87-2-102, who has never before obtained any hunting license pursuant to Title 87, chapter 2, may purchase the following for one-half the cost:

     (a) a Class A-1 upland game bird license;

     (b) a Class A-3 deer A tag;

     (c) a Class A-5 elk tag;

     (d) a Class AAA combination sports license that does not include a Class A-6 black bear tag.

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 2.  Codification instruction. [Section 1] is intended to be codified as an integral part of Title 87, chapter 2, part 8, and the provisions of Title 87, chapter 2, part 8, apply to [section 1].

 

     NEW SECTION.  Section 3.  Effective date. [This act] is effective March 1, 2020.
