HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 66
INTRODUCED BY F. MOORE
A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MONTANA REQUESTING AN INTERIM STUDY TO INVESTIGATE LEGISLATIVE OPTIONS FOR PRESENTING REQUESTED SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS; AND REQUIRING THAT THE FINAL RESULTS OF THE STUDY BE REPORTED TO THE 67TH LEGISLATURE.
WHEREAS, typically House Bill No. 3 contains all supplemental appropriations requested by state agencies for a biennium; and
WHEREAS, having a separate piece of legislation for each agency requesting a supplemental appropriation may be preferable than having all supplemental appropriations contained in one bill.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE AND THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:
That the Legislative Finance Committee analyze the benefits and disadvantages of having all requested supplemental appropriations contained in one bill or in a series of bills for each agency requesting a supplemental appropriation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the final results of the study including any findings, conclusions, comments, or recommendations of the legislative finance committee, be reported to the 67th legislature.
